West Ham owner Sullivan has the cheek to bemoan late kick off after Man Utd’s bus gets smashed in

West Ham played out an enthralling 3-2 victory over Manchester United on the last night at the Boleyn Ground before their big tax payer benefiting move their new stadium.

Kick-off of West Ham’s final game at the ground however had to be knocked back from 7:45pm to 8:30pm after the Manchester United team bus was hit by a skirmish of over zealous Hammers fans throwing bottles and other missiles as it made its way down Green Street.

Whilst shocking damage to the United bus was plain for all to see, including the complete smashing of a front window, West Ham co-owner David Sullivan could only focus on the outrage that was allowing the Red Devil’s to kick off half an hour later.

He moaned;
I’m gravely disappointed, more for our supporters. What people forget is they’ve got trains and buses to get home and we’ve got a wonderful, wonderful show after the game for them. many just can’t stay any more.
United should have got here at 4pm. They know it’s our last game. They had the same problem at Tottenham a few weeks ago. I think the police and officials have been kind. I’d make them kick-off at 7.45pm if I was in charge.

Asked directly about the trouble outside the ground, he added;

“If you check the coach there won’t be any damage to it.”

Err, Yes David……

Here’s the view from the Manchester United players perspective….
