[dropcap]W[/dropcap]hilst Footballers can be seen as easy prey when it comes to questionable sentence structure, this video showing West Ham defender Aaron Cresswell using his time during a Goals on Sunday interview to repeatedly crowbar in the words “you know” has made for fascinating viewing.
Sitting alongside presenting double team Chris Kamara and Ben Shephard, as well as ex-Real Madrid centre-half Jonathan Woodgate, the wing-back fields questions on his sides opening weekend of the league season.
Viewers sharp on the uptake, or even those that just had functioning ears, quickly noticed that Cresswell was squeezing the phrase “you know” into every sentence…sometimes a couple on each.
Indeed the live interview even started trending on Twitter as it happened.
Have a listen, we count 16 of them in this short segment.
