Things have been getting blimmin tight at the top of the Eredivisie of late with Dutch giants PSV and Ajax enjoying a tête-à-tête all the way to the seasons end.
Feeling the pressure with his side being two points behind Frank de Boer’s pacesetters, full-back Santiago Arias did his sides title hopes no favours by picking up a second yellow for manhandling defender Guus Joppen an hour into PSV’s fixture against Willem II.
The Colombian’s fury was quite evident as he bustled his way to the Philips Stadion changing room – not before sending his fist through a glass panel.
In the end it was all well and good for the side as they managed to see if their opponents 2-0 courtesy of goals from van Ginkel and de Jong.
Arias however was hospitalised with multiple deep lacerations on his hand and arm – ouchies.
And he’d only just returned from a nine month lay off.
