After steering Leicester City to Premier League survival following a remarkable run in the final 10 matches of the season, Nigel Pearson has been given the boot by owners Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, this time seemingly for good.
A statement on the Leicester City homepage read;
It has become clear to the Club that fundamental differences in perspective exist between us. Regrettably, the Club believes that the working relationship between Nigel and the Board is no longer viable.

Despite the end of season heroics, Pearson’s interactions with the media in regards to his sides affairs were quite reminiscent of Michael Douglas in the film Falling Down. Whilst he refuted any problems behind the scenes, some serious tension seemed to be a brewing. The unusual decision to sack him and then reinstate him not long before the seasons end certainly added fuel to the fire.
One thing the former Norwich manager could have done without of course would have been the termination of his sons contract after the youngster was caught up a racist sex scandal.
Who knows, perhaps Ostrich gate was the tipping point.
