According to ESPN sources, Swansea City and their American hierarchy are set to back fellow American Bob Bradley in the upcoming transfer window. The American manager has taken over a team devoid of confidence and has thus far struggled to overturn their poor start to the season. Having seen his side ship goals to teams that are around the bottom of the table as well, Bradley is eager to make defensive adjustments.
According to those sources, Bradley is considering making a move for out of favor Barcelona right back Aleix Vidal. Vidal, formerly of Sevilla, was supposed to be a direct replacement for Dani Alves, but he has never quite latched on for Luis Enrique at the Catalan club. The hope of Bradley is that he can bring the the 27 year old to Swansea on loan.
The 27 year old offers a great deal to any side with his speed and versatility but simply has not worked out for Barcelona. Bradley quite likes a player that possesses physical traits, and Vidal fits that role very well. Vidal is the type of player that Bradley can deploy as a winger, a right back, or even a wing back, so this is a very tempting move that would allow Bradley to change up his tactics when needed.
With a big relegation six pointer against Crystal Palace coming up on the third, Bradley and co. will be hoping to rush toward a deal for the versatile right sided player in time for the crunch clash.
