Although not a first-choice striker for Spurs this season under manager Mauricio Pochettino, the 24-year-old Son has seized every opportunity given to him so far, scoring 14 goals and notching 7 assists in all competitions during this campaign.
Such commendable form is thought to have attracted suitors from across Europe. Indeed, according to the London Evening Standard, the South Korean is believed to be on top of the list of two big clubs – Serie A heavyweights Inter Milan and La Liga outfit Sevilla.
Sevilla, who’ve recently crashed out of the Champions League at the hands of underdogs Leicester a week ago, are keen to add a prolific goal-scorer in their ranks and believe Son is the perfect player to add guile in their attack.
Inter Milan, for their part, are also looking for a striker capable of shooting a ball into the back of the net. The San Siro outfit are fearful they are set to lose their forward Ivan Perisic this summer and see Son as a perfect replacement for the Croatian poacher.
Regardless of which of the two will be pushing forward with their plans to sign Son, it will be unlikely Tottenham will let the South Korean go for cheap. The London-based club see the 24-year-old striker as an integral part of their team and will most likely ask for a steep sum – most likely upwards of £22-million, which is what is currently understood to be Son’s market value.
Whether Sevilla or Inter will dish out such an amount of cash in the summer to secure their target, of course, remains to be seen.
