[dropcap]S[/dropcap]wansea have agreed a deal to sign former Juventus forward Fernando Llorente from Sevilla for an undisclosed amount.
The Spain international has been a target of the Welsh club for some time, with the two clubs haggling over last minute cash details, the striker is all set to sign on the dotted line pending a medical.
Real Sociedad, Sporting Lisbon and an unnamed Bundesliga club had also been hoping to sign the player up, however with the Premier League the more attractive option for Llorente, Swansea were able to get their man.
Whilst the forward has spent an extended amount of time being used as a bit part striker by the Spanish club, some superb performances for former club Athletic Bilbao a few years prior ensured Llorente’s talents have always been monitored by Europe’s biggest clubs.
Now 31, Swansea will be hoping that the number nine will be a decent replacement for Portugal hero Eder, Alberto Paloschi and Bafetimbi Gomis who have all left the club.
It’s believed that once the deal is tied up, Swansea will be back in the hunt for another attacking option.
So what do we thinks Swans fans, a sleeping giant or an over-the-hill has been?
Either way, you’ll surely be hoping for some magic of this ilk. Remember this absolute storming effort against Manchester United in the Europa League.
