Well, New York fans from both contingents are certainly getting into the swing of things after a rather eventful derby debut.
The Red Bulls out though and outscored the holy trio of Pirlo, Lampard and Villa 2-0 with goals from Bradley Wright-Phillips and Martins in front of a buzzing atmosphere (Lamps will be disappointed not to get his first after a couple of spurned opportunities). Whilst not managing to get himself on the score sheet, Villa seemingly settled on taking Felipe Martin’s shorts.
It wasn’t all high spirits as some fans seemed a little overly influenced by the uglier side of footballing derbies when violence hit New Jersey.
