Roberto Soldado timely exit out of White Hart lane to Spanish side Villareal is likely to be announced in the coming days. After signing back in 2013 with a reputation as somewhat of a sharpshooter, scoring 59 goals in a century of games for his previous side Valencia, Soldado turned out to be an outstandingly expensive mistake for club owner Daniel Levy after a wincing £26 million was paid for his services – in return the Spaniard has given his side a ‘Torres-esque’ 7 goals in 51 appearances.
With Spurs fans not exactly disappointed to see the back of the man, at least some firm friends were made whilst at the club. Noticeably Erik Lamela who tweeted this tribute to the man – a tweet which was quickly deleted soon after, presumably after being instructed that a club announcement should be made first.
Ah well, cheers for the heads up Erik.
