With that in mind it’s beggars believe how the organisers of there recent matchup thought a friendly would be a decent idea.
Already riled from the two red cards they received in their midweek clash against Racing Club, the Argentinian league champion went one better by having three players sent off in their clash against their great rivals as the exhibition match descended into chaos.
Defensive trio Jonathan Silva, Gino Peruzzi and Daniel Diaz were all red carded at various times during the tumultuous Torneos de Verano fixture.
Not wanting to be outshone by their illustrious opponents, River tried their darnest to catch up with Boca on the red card front, having two of their players sent for an early bath in the final 10 minutes – Jonathan Maidana for a head-butt on Carlos Tevez, which duly sparked a multi-man brawl led to striker Leonardo Pisculichi shown a red card amid the ensuing Royal Rumble…
