Whilst the players career has seemingly become a tale of wasted talent after being unable to establish himself among some Europe’s great clubs, there is no denying Portuguese winger Ricardo Quaresma has always been an outstanding technical footballer. One of the true great Portuguese players.
Still playing his trade at 33, the Euro 2016 winner played a massive part in his clubs epic 3-3 draw with Benfica last night in a classic Champions League encounter.
With the Turkish side’s backs very much against the wall, Besiktas fought back heroically from three goals down to claim a last gasp 3-3 draw, with Quaresma playing a massive part.
After getting his side back into proceedings with an expertly taken penalty kick seven minutes prior, the former Barca and Inter winger delivers a criminally good Ramona cross for striker Aboubakar to promptly puts his chance away with just a minute left on the clock.
Not only did Quaresma produce yet another fine piece of skill for an already stellar YouTube compilation, his efforts also ensured his side had a chance of qualification going into the final round of games.
Wonderful stuff.
