After nine competitive matches against each other, Louis Van Gaal finally got the better of his best chum Dick Advocaat (1 win in 9 attempts) as Man Utd cantered to a 3-0 win over a moribund Sunderland side this weekend.
With the result never in doubt judging on recent form, much of the pre match questions surrounded this absolute classic picture of the Dutch managers and two scantily clad young ladies.
Taken prior to a PSV Eindhoven and Ajax Amsterdam fixture in the mid 90’s when the pair helmed the respective clubs, Advocaat was asked what the hell it was all about in Fridays pre-match presso – he simply commented: “It was PSV versus Ajax, I believe. We were quite surprised when we came in. I can remember it. They were already painted unfortunately.”
Nice. Although we think Mr Advocaat will do well to remember who wears the trousers at home.
