Premier League clubs agree to £30 cap for all away ticket prices

What with the uproar caused by the absolute hash that was Liverpool’s new ‘pricing structure’, it seems Premier League clubs are ever so slightly opening their eyes to the fact that it’s probably best not to screw over the one thing that’s making this ridiculously disproportionate money market all possible, namely the clubs fans.

Whilst watching your favourite Premier League club is always going to be a quick sharp shock to the wallet, a new away ticket pricing proposal looks to go a long way to appeasing supporters.

The Premier League has announced today that all top flight clubs have agreed to cap the price of tickets for away fans at £30 for the next three seasons.

Michael Brunskill of the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) spoke about the news:

When fans started campaigning around ticket prices a lot of people were cynical.

This has shown that clubs will listen to co-ordinated fan campaigns if it’s done in an intelligent and proactive manner.

Certainly step in the right direction. Call us old cynics, our we paranoid to think that club boardrooms will find another way to shaft their ‘customers’?
