Petr Cech is a retired Czech professional footballer who is widely considered one of the greatest goalkeepers of his generation. He began his career with Sparta Prague in 1999 before moving to Rennes in France in 2002. In 2004, he joined Chelsea, where he would go on to make over 400 appearances for the club and become one of the most iconic players in the club’s history.
At Chelsea, Cech quickly established himself as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper and played a crucial role in the club’s success during the early 2000s. He won four Premier League titles, four FA Cups, three League Cups, and the UEFA Champions League in 2012 during his time at the club. He also won the Golden Glove award for the best goalkeeper in the Premier League four times, and was included in the PFA Team of the Year twice.
After 11 years at Chelsea, Cech moved to Arsenal in 2015. He was appointed as the club’s first-choice goalkeeper and helped the team win the FA Cup in 2017. He announced his retirement from professional football in 2019
After retiring, Cech has been involved in a number of different projects. In 2019, he returned to Chelsea in a technical and performance advisor role, where he works closely with the club’s goalkeepers and coaches to help improve their performance. He is also involved in a number of business ventures, including a sports management company and a sports technology company.
In more recent times he’s been playing Ice Hockey and now plays semi-professional ice hockey as a goaltender for Chelmsford Chieftains.
