Watford produced a stunning comeback from two goals down at West Ham’s London Stadium to claim a 4-2 victory yesterday afternoon, new boss Walter Mazzari’s first win since joining the Hornets over the summer.
The Hammers looked in relative control from the get-go, with in-form winger Michail Antonio grabbing two headers in the first half to quickly silence the away end.
Despite the Hornets being utterly outplayed in the opening exchanges of this game, Ighalo proceeded to lift his sides by making it 2-1. A superb effort from Troy Deeney, taking advantage of James Collins horrendous defending, made it 2-2 before second half goals from Capoue and Holebas ensured victory for Watford.
Whilst West Ham fans will no doubt highlight the fact that he faded so dramatically in the second half, Dimitri Payet for us provided the moment of the match when setting up his sides second.
With the Frenchman joining West Ham’s attack on the right hand side, watch the 30-year old feint one-way before delivering the classiest of Rabona’s, with the ball smartly landing on the head of the unmarked Antonio.
Fantasy stuff.
