[dropcap]P[/dropcap]artizani Tirana booked their place in the Champions League third round of qualifying after a dramatic 3-1 penalty win over Hungary’s Ferencvaros.
The Albanian side, who only became eligible for the competition after national champions Skenderbeu were booted out of the competition for match fixing, took their opponents to a ‘penalty competition’, as Barry Davies would say, after the match ended 2-2 on aggregate.
It was at this point that Partizani goalkeeper Alban Hoxha cemented himself as genuine club hero after saving three of Ferencvaros’ penalties. This all after converting his very own penalty with a superb panenka.
We question whether it literally can get any better for a goalkeeper.
Here’s the shootout highlights.
