Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has joined Tottenham Hotspur in a £30m deal following a deadline day race to the post.

Rivals for the Frenchman’s signature Everton were reportedly expected to complete the transfer (Even setting up a room for a last minute medical), only for Mauricio Pochettino and co to nip in at the very last moment and convince him that Champions League action may in fact be the better option.
The deal was so fine in fact that it’s been reported that Sissoko wouldn’t pick up his phone when Toffee’s representatives were trying to contact him.
