Team News
Manchester United are still without the charismatic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, sturdy midfielder Marouane Fellaini, crafty club captain Michael Carrick, and French international Paul Pogba. All four have been sidelined with long-term injuries and won’t make it to the pitch any time soon. Argentine defender Marcos Rojo, meanwhile, could see some action although his is still likely unfit after a spell in the sidelines.
Benfica won’t be able to count on the services of their second-choice Brazilian defender Douglas, who is currently out with an injury. Meanwhile, veteran centre-back Luisao is not available for this match due to suspension.

The Red Devils’ 1-0 victory against Tottenham during the weekend will definitely do wonders in terms of morale for Jose Mourinho’s men. United have been lambasted for their inability to create chances in attack in recent outings, and the fact that they won against Spurs will definitely bring back some lost swagger.

The Portuguese Eagles have had a similar run of fortune to United in recent weeks, and have also won 1-0 against a very defensive Feirense in the Portuguese league during the weekend. They will definitely try and continue their run of form against United come kick-off.
Match Prediction
Manchester United won against Benfica in Portugal weeks ago, and there is no reason to suggest the Red Devils won’t be able to repeat that performance – or perhaps top that one – at Old Trafford. It would take serious mistakes on United’s part in order for Benfica to clinch a solid win.
