Possibly getting his ideas from Rocky Balboa and his wonderful action beard from the great Rocky IV, Mainz 05 coach Martin Schmidt has gone to great lengths to ensure his players stay match fit over the Bundesliga’s winter break.
All players and staff enjoyed (sorry we mean endured) a day full of team-building exercises before spending the night in the snowy mountains of Valais in the coach’s native Switzerland, some 2,700 metres above sea level.
Here’s the lads camping, no doubt freezing their hoden’s off.
Definitely not happy campers.
It’s not all bad however, in matter of days the entire squad will fly out to Marbella for their warm-weather training camp.
