Luis Suarez resumed last season’s scarcely believable form for Barcelona by scoring a hat-trick on the opening day of La Liga as the champions thrashed Real Betis 6-2.
Arda Turan opened the scoring for the Catalan’s from close range, before Ruben Castro levelled from a free-kick.
Lionel Messi smashed through a superb 22-yard strike before Suarez added a third from the edge of the box.
The Uruguyan added his sides fourth, followed by Messi again after drving home from distance. Suarez opped up to complete his hat-trick by curling home a free-kick, all before Castro added a late consolation.
