The chairman of La Liga side UD Las Palmas, Miguel Angel Ramirez, has revealed Merseyside giants Liverpool are eager to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Spanish centre forward Jese.
The 23-year-old Jese signed for Ligue 1 giants PSG just before the season began for a reported fee of €25m, but is now being mooted with a move away from the Parc des Princes, with a handful of top European club keen on snapping up the striker.
One of the clubs believed to be interested in acquiring Jese’s services are Liverpool, with boss Jurgen Klopp eyeing a move for Jese to bolster his side’s attacking ranks.
“I do not know if PSG are aware, but Liverpool as well as AC Milan and Roma want to buy Jese,” Ramirez told Spanish news outlet La Provincia.
“They are willing to pay what the club and the player are charging,” the Las Palmas chief added.
Jese is still finding his form for his new employers this season, but his performances have shown a lot of promise. He has played a total 14 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season across all competitions, scoring two goals.
Jese was born in Las Palmas and Ramirez has revealed his excitement at seeing a hometown favourite making it in the big leagues.
“Jese is a great footballer, and for us he is a very special person,” the Las Palmas head-honcho said.
“We love him very much and it is a great source of pride that someone from our city is standing out,” Ramirez added.
Jese has a contract with PSG until 2021.
