[dropcap]L[/dropcap]iverpool have set their sights on signing Cologne full-back Jonas Hector. The German is likely to be the Reds’ final recruit of the transfer window.
The Reds are currently short in the left-back department after Brad Smith was sold to Bournemouth whilst Jon Flanagan is poised to seal his loan move to Burnley.
Reputed journalist Emanuele Giulianelli says Jurgen Klopp is desperate to land Hector in the transfer window as he is not fully satisfied with the abilities of Alberto Moreno.
The 26-year-old is currently rated in the £22m range, and the Reds would have no problems matching the price, given they are in good stead with their transfer budget.
On the other hand, the defender is also open to the proposed transfer as he is keen to work under Klopp’s management.
Hector was one of the stand-out performers for Germany in their run to the semi-final stage of Euro 2016. He has racked over 130 appearances for Cologne till date.
