Into the Lions Den: Garry Monk named as Leeds United manager – sends a message to fans

After SkyNews broke the story hours prior, Leeds United have confirmed that former Swansea manager Garry Monk has signed a one-year contract with the club.

The Yorkshire club recently parted ways with Steve Evans after a disappointing Championship finish, impressively the derisive manager lasted seven months in the position, a life time for any head coach under Leeds’ Cellino reign.

Monk, just months prior seen as one of England’s top young managers, represents quite the coup for United fans who have had to witness to some truly dour times at Elland Road of late.

That being said, to think you can work with that board room infrastructure would suggest that the man must have rocks in his head. Whilst the poor form that led to his eventual sacking at Swansea is considered a blip on his resume, surely a club with a better set up would suit the once touted future England manager?

Ah well, he must bloody love a challenge.

Here’s his message to the long suffering fans.
