After some criminal defensive failings culminating in a 2-0 defeat to fellow title chasers Arsenal just a week ago, many Man City fans sighed with relief seeing Vincent Kompany make a 62nd minute substitute appearance against Sunderland yesterday following a lengthy lay-off through injury.
Whilst their side dealt a pasting to Sam Allardyce’s seemingly Championship bound Black Cats, courtesy of first-half goals from Raheem Sterling, Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony, their big Belgian centre half yet again limped off with an injury after a short cameo.
With his lack of fitness taking it’s toll emotionally, Kompany took to Twitter to explain his frustrations.
