Judging by these latest words, Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be quitting Manchester United

Even when the inimitable Swede was busy winning trophies up and down the continent in his mid-twenties, you wouldn’t need to go far to find an English Premier League ‘expert’ doubting the striker’s ability to cut it in the English game. In spite of his critics, wherever Zlatan Ibrahimovic goes, he tends to succeed.

The former Seria A winner joined Manchester united last Summer at the age of 34, suffice to say the former Inter and PSG man has been an absolute revelation for the Red Devils, a bright spark in a stuttering yet undeniably talented side. Who knew that Mourinho’s men would be damning their luck quite so much when Ibra broke down with a nasty looking knee injury during United’s win over Anderlecht midweek.

With the Red Devils competing for a top four place and a Europa League trophy, United need to find goals frome elsehwere, so far Marcus RAshford has filled that role nicely. Footage from the incident would even suggest the Swede may not even wear the Red Shirt again considering his grand old age and his solitary year remaining on his contract.

Not that Zlatan has any plans to quit Old Trafford yet.

Speaking on social media, the 17 goal Premier league striker gave the following message to fans.

“First of all, thank you for all the support and love. Its no news I got injured so I will be out of fotball for a while,” Ibrahimovic said. “I will go through this like everythings else and come back even stronger.

“So far I played with one leg so it shouldn’t be any problem. One thing is for sure, I decide when its time to stop and nothing else. Giving up is not an option. See you soon.”

Whilst Ibrahimovic reflects on a fine season from the comfort of his sofa, a Manchester Derby next awaits his side, followed by a fixture against strugglers Swansea, as well a Europa Semifinal match against Celta Vigo.
