Hardly surprising given the wave of ignominy among Aston Villa fans following such episodes as ‘car gate‘, Jolean Lescott has finally jumped ship and signed for a new club.
Perhaps a mild shock however is the fact that he’s gone and joined Greek side AEK Athens on a two year deal. Although you can image the lengths the former England international would be willing to go to remove himself from the public eye…and Stan Collymore.
Given the mere handful of English players willing to test themselves on foreign lands, we can only admire Lescott for his endeavours.
However, didn’t Lescott turn down a move to Rangers because he thought it was too far a move from his family?
Wierd.
Just for reference, AEK finished third place in the Greek Superleague last season, a whopping 30 points behind eventual winners and league behemoths Olympiacos.
