[dropcap]S[/dropcap]toke City have official unveiled Joe Allen as the clubs brand new recruit after capturing the Welshman for £13.5million from Liverpool.
After starring for his country during the the Dragons’ superb Euro 2016 run, as well as impressing for the Red’s on the way to a Europa League final berth, Allen has become quite the in demand acquisition with Everton and former club Swansea hovering.
With playing time becoming increasingly rare under Klopp, not to mention the fact that midfielder had just one year left on his contract with the Merseysiders, the man affectionately known by some as ‘the Welsh Xavi’ has settled on the promise of first team football with Mark Hughes’ side.
Clearly chuffed with the move, Allen told the club’s official website: “It’s been a whirlwind 48 hours for me, but I am delighted to have finally been able to put pen to paper.
“I was really excited as soon as I heard of the club’s interest and it wasn’t a difficult decision for me to make. I am incredibly excited about my future here at Stoke City.”

Here’s the man in his own words…..
Not a bad deal for both parties if we’re honest. Stoke now have a superb lynchpin for the likes of Arnautovic and Shaqiri, whilst Liverpool have received a hefty sum for a player who’s basically become a squad player of late.
