Icelandic football commentator Gudmundur Benediktsson was in fine screamy form yet again after his beloved country outfought and out-thought a beleaguered England. 2-1.
After already delivering potentially the finest moment of this years Euro’s as Arnor Ingvi Traustason netted Iceland’s group winner over Austria, and a little later learning that he had lost his day job as assistant coach of KR Reykjavik, Benediktsson’s lungs were dealt another workout when Iceland’s Kolbein Sigthorsson scored what would ultimately be the winning goal in a 2-1 victory.
As miserable as it is to be an England fan of late (hell even to be English), the way Iceland and their players have carried themselves at this tournament has been nothing short of superb.
Here’s ‘the voice’ of Icelandic football doing what he does best.
