Whilst they did eventually come undone by a rampant France side 5-2 in the quarters, Iceland’s Euro 2016 campaign was one of footballs great stories….and not just because they beat a woeful England side.
Alongside the classic footage of a certain commentator losing his ‘s**t’ in the closing seconds of their win over Austria, the minnows’ tournament was beautifully summed up by their now famous ‘Viking Clap’ as exhibited after slaying Roy Hodgson’s band of overpaid pretenders.
In honour of their sides achievements, the squad were greeted back home by the mother of all Viking Claps, courtesy of 10,000 awaiting fans.
