[dropcap]E[/dropcap]ver since signing on the dotted line for fierce Serie A rivals Juventus, Gonzalo Higuain will probably be wanting to avoid any holiday’s in Naples in the coming years after the public out cry expressed at his treachery.
Very much following suit to fellow fans reactionary rage at the transfer, a Napoli restaurant has responded to the players €90move to Juventus in the most embittered of ways – by offering a Margherita pizza for only €1 when the Argentine striker suffers his first injury with his new club.
The 28-year-old striker’s popularity with the Naples club reached Maradona-esque proportions when netting a record-breaking 36 goals in 35 Serie A games last season. Whilst you can forgive football fans for being irked that a star player has moved on to a rival, we find the celebration of actual bodily harm to be a tad odd.
