After much muttering a of the Spanish star being sold on, Álvaro Negredo has quickly become Valencia’s knight in shining armour after his sensational lob made the difference in their quest for the money spinning world of Champions League football.
With just four minutes played of their second leg qualifier against Monaco, Negredo sent this Karel Poborsky-esqué looping effort over the hapless Monaco keeper.
Whilst the French side mounted a comeback with two goals to win the tie 2-1, the aggregate score line of 4-3 was enough to claim overall victory.
