Father bans X-box from household after son racks up £5,255.03 in FIFA’s in game puchases

Canadian resident and father of a one, Lance Perkins, was left ruing the day he granted his son an emergency credit card after the teen racked up an incredible $7,625.88 in in-game purchases, whilst playing FIFA 16.

Speaking to CBC news, the irate father commented;
“It floored me. Literally floored me, when I’d seen what I was being charged,”

‘He’s just as sick as I am’

“He thought it was a one-time fee for the game,”

“He’s just as sick as I am, [because] he never believed he was being charged for every transaction, or every time he went onto the game.”

“There will never be another Xbox system — or any gaming system — in my home.”

Although the son fessed up to the fact that he had’t just been using the card for emergency groceries, it’s believed that unless the father wants to charge his offspring with fraud, the credit card company were unable to sanction a payment reversal.

Despite contacting EA Sports in an attempt to reclaim lost funds, the game manufacturers have as yet failed to respond.

Whilst parent company Microsoft dodged an ensuing interview with the channel, they did give the following statement;
“Purchases made using a parent’s payment account are legitimate transactions under the Microsoft Services Agreement, and we encourage parents to use the many platform and service features we make available to prevent unapproved charges,”

What a truly magnificent ‘Ultimate Team’ squad that boy must have.
