Euro 2016: Late Lafferty goal keeps N Ireland on course for qualification

On a night Northern Ireland looked to finally clinch Euro qualification, come the final the resulting atmosphere was one of relief and not the expected celebrations.

Having just seen Chris Baird sent off for an unfortunate double booking, Hungary were a goal to the good with just seconds remaining courtesy of Guzmics two yard tap-in. Luckily for the hosts Kyle Lafferty salvaged a point for his side to swiftly deny the visitors serious ground in the group table.

Whilst qualification was denied on the night, the forwards goal meant his side require two points in their remaining fixtures to avoid the unwanted rigmarole of the playoffs.

It could of been better, then again it could have been so much worse.
