Barcelona claimed an emphatic 4-0 El Clasico victory at the Bernabeu last night, all the more impressive was the fact that talisman Lionel Messi only decided to make an appearance when the match was already won later in the game.
Luis Suarez opened the scoring just 16 minutes in after the visitors dumbfounded their hosts with some delightful quick football. Neymar side footed home soon after to make it two.
The real highlight however was Iniesta finishing off some tika taka magic to absolutely silence the Bernabeu. By the time Suarez had added his second Ronaldo and co were visibly in utter disbelief at just how inferior their performance had been.
In the wake of the absolute mauling, Rafa Benitez was greeted by hundreds of supporters waving their white hankies – a sign of gross disapproval among the Madrid faithful. Perhaps more poignant was the sounds of applause rippling from the home contingent aimed at Iniesta after the Spaniard had orchestrated Madrid’s demise perfectly.
To sum up the match – Barca are an absurdly good football side.
