Earning a reputation as a smug no nonsense member of parliament during Labour’s disastrous 2015 leadership campaign, many were be overjoyed that, seven months after losing his seat as a Labour MP at May’s general election, one of the most punchable MP’s in recent memory was swiftly taken off our screens.
Well, unlucky Norwich fans because it seems like Balls is back.
The former shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer was formally announced as the new chairman of Norwich City just yesterday, taking his position as a non paid member of the board aiming to support Delia and co in the avoidance of an unwanted relegation scrap.
And the former Labour party member seemed pretty happy with himself when revealing the news, saying;
“From the moment my dad first took me to watch from the terraces at Carrow Road in 1973, my earliest ambition was to play for the club,”
“The next best thing is to become chairman.”
Delia and Ed Balls on the same board…ah, to be a fly on the wall.
Fans, and any one willing to rib the Canaries’ newest employee, welcomed their man by referencing the time in 2011 that Balls tried his hand at social media…by simply Tweeting his name.
