Depay criticised for turning up like a “Peruvian pan flute player” by ex manager

What with the arrival of another youthful prospect in the shape of Anthony Martial getting all the applause, Memphis Depay’s United career has seemingly hit an unfortunate snag in the road having gone right off the boil for both club and country.

Having developed a slightly questionable attitude in his home country, it seems certain names connected to the game, namely ex-Twente manager Co Adriaanse, has gone for Depay right were it hurts him most…..his bemusing fashion sense.

Talking to Studio Voetbal, Adriaanse waded into the former PSV forwards bully big potatoes like attitude:
He needs to be corrected. He must realise that he is a member in a football team, that he is not just an individual, a 100 metre sprinter like Usain Bolt.
He arrived as a Peruvian pan flute player at Huis ter Duin (the Dutch team hotel).
If you are a young boy and still have not done anything, do not play dress up as you report to the coach.
Cristiano Ronaldo does that, but at least he is proven.

A Peruvian flute player….reservations aside you can’t complain about the accuracy of that comparison.
