As if Brazil’s 2014 World Cup couldn’t get any more nightmarish for the fans, it’s now come to light that Brazil’s football federation had the opportunity to appoint none other than Pep Guardiola as the national teams coach.
Speaking on Brazilian TV show Bola da Vez, Barca full back Dani Alves made the surprising revelations:
Before the World Cup, Pep wanted to coach the Brazil side but they weren’t keen,
Pep said that he wanted to make us the best in the world and had a strategy planned out… but they didn’t want him.
They said they didn’t know if the Brazilian people would accept him. If you don’t accept the best in the world, someone who can make us better, you don’t care about the Seleção .
Bit of a dig at Big Phil Scolari there….
