What with Real Madrid hovering following a stellar Euro 2016 campaign for Portugal, Barcelona have nipped their rivals to star midfielder André Gomes.
The 22-year old Valencia player was widely tipped to sign on for Zinedine Zidane’s side, however courtesy of a last minute hijack, Gomes is to join up up Lionel Messi and co. With the move to Los Blancos a ‘done deal’ at 22:30, Barcelona pounced to steal the prized asset at 23:00.
Barcelona confirmed on Twitter that they had come to an agreement with Valencia, announcing that the player will be officially unveiled next week. The fee rumored to be around €50 million (around £41.5m).
