Loved like the second coming of Christ among the Boca support, Carlos Tevez yesterday reminded everybody that the sun doesn’t always shine out of his backside after this gruesome incident.
Having already put his side a goal to the good with a superb effort, before adding a fine second, Tevez took to unleashing a shocking studs up challenge on Argentinos Juniors player Ezequiel Ham.
Presumably caught up in all the ‘prodigal son returns’ excitement, the referee failed to even book the former Man City and Juventus striker.
Here’s the harrowing incident (not for those of a nervous disposition).
Update:
The Argentine has since apologised for the mis timing of his tackle when speaking to Futbol Para Todos immediately after the match;
“It makes me angry because I went for the ball, it was neither malicious nor my intention to hurt him. The touch told me I’d done something wrong,”.
“I’m sad because I didn’t want to do anything bad to him. I’ve never hurt anyone, this is my first time. Now I’m going to see him and apologise, as I should do.”
