After a long illustrious career with the Giallorossi, legend and ultimate club man Francesco Totti will finally be hanging up his scoring boots at the tender age of 39 after Roma decided against offering an extension on his contract.
No doubt one of the most gifted players of his generation, Totti made his final bow on Europe’s premier stage last night, a substitute appearance during his sides 2-0 (4-0 agg) second leg defeat to Real Madrid.
As goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and James Rodriguez put the tie to bed, the Bernabeu rose to acclaim a living legend with the classiest of salutes.
A stadium wide standing ovation….
