[dropcap]A[/dropcap]fter signing for a record £20million from Swansea, Andre Ayew has been sidelined until Christmas with a thigh injury.
Much to Hammers fans dismay, the Ghanaian striker lasted just 35 minutes of his debut against on Monday before limping off.
Whilst the club, currently in Romania ahead of their qualifier against Astra Giurgiu on Thursday, have commented they’re awaiting the results of a scan on the injury, Jack Sullivan, the more than vocal son of West Ham joint-chairman wrote on Twitter: “We are devastated that Ayew will be out for about 4 months. He needs surgery.”

Naturally the news will be a massive blow to Slaven Bilic who has spent all summer wooing the striker away from the Swans.
Added to that, the former Croatia captain is already mulling over his options in light of fellow new signing Sofiane Feghouli also being unavailable for the up and coming clash with Astra along with Aaron Cresswell and Manuel Lanzini, although he hopes the latter will be available in a week or so.
