More terrible news for Hull City fans as it looks like one of the club’s true star players, Robert Snodgrass, has turned down a new contract from the Tigers. On the heels of a tumultuous offseason, Hull got off to a brilliant start to the season. Since then, however, they have fallen- and fallen hard- back down to earth. Now, they face the prospect of losing one of the only men in their squad who is capable of being a match winner.
Snodgrass has been in this relegation fight before, having done it with Norwich City, and it looks like he is tired of going through it now. Snodgrass reportedly, according to Sky Sports, has suitors lining up to bring him on. Some of the suitors appear to want to bring the experienced Scottish international in to the club in order to undermine the Tigers’ relegation scrap.
Snodgrass is a target of Middlesbrough, West Ham, and Sunderland, each of whom are in the lower half of the table. Two of those sides are also genuine threats for the drop, so this move is even more interesting. Would Hull sell Snodgrass now in order to recoup some money for him or will they hang on to him and see how the season plays out before seeing him leave for free? Either move is very risky, but surely Hull will value their safety in the league above a payout for one player? That question, is assuming that Snodgrass’ heart is in the game. If not, Hull may be forced to sell after all. Interesting stuff as the carousel continues to turn in the Premier League.
