With Bayern Munich grabbing a comfortably 3-0 win over Greek champions Olympiacos in Wednesday’s Champions League match in Piraeus, you’d be forgiven that everything was tickety boo with the German’s registering another standard away victory.
That notion of course went well out of the window after footage emerged of Greek Police knocking absolute bells out of unarmed Bayern Munich fans two hours before kick-off. It’s understood that in the lead up to the match, supporters from the German side were escorted to the ground after violence in the city centre.
As always in these situation, context is a mighty valuable thing…doesn’t look good though does it?
