Wayne Rooney becomes England’s record goalscorer as The Three Lions see off the Swiss 2-0 (Video)

And so it was.

As England maintained their 100% qualifying record with a 2-0 win against Switzerland, Wayne Rooney became England’s all time goalscorer, leapfrogging the great Bobby Charlton into the number one spot.

That’s 50 goals in 106 appearances.

Whilst The Three Lions struggled to get a hold of Switzerland for most of the match, with bang average performances littering the fixture, the hosts eventually took the lead when Harry Kane converted after good work by Luke Shaw down the left hand side.

Soon after, the moment we were all waiting for.

Obviously wanting to see the glorious moment under his watch on his visit to London, referee Gianluca Rocchi was kind enough to hand the three Lions a penalty after this…

To put it lightly, it clearly meant a lot to the Man Utd striker.
