With Belgian side Club Brugge rushing into an early lead during last nights Champions League qualifier, it all seemed like Manchester United’s European adventure would go tits up at a rather early stage.
That is of course until Memphis Depay gave glimpses of his extraordinary potential by scoring two superb goals in front of an expectant home crowd. The first to level the tie, the second to give his side the lead.

With the Dutchman drawing inevitable comparisons to a certain Wayne Rooney, who fired in a hat trick against Fenerbahce during the strikers own Champions League debut a decade ago, the Old Trafford faithful will be rubbing their collective hands at the prospect of finally having a potential talisman to drive them to greater things.
The usually stern Louis Van Gal even joked post match that he was willing to “kiss” the striker in light of his performance.
Not before rather hilariously bringing him down a few pegs by commenting on the 21 year old’s loss of possession during a couple of occasions.
