Confusion reigns as Tim ‘Director of Football’ Sherwood becomes manager for one game

What with his QPR appointment being reported as a sure thing according to various news outlets (including this here misguided church), Tim Sherwood recently popped up at Swindon Town on Thursday after being appointment the clubs new Director of Football.

In his new confusing role it was established that the former Villa manager was to choose team tactics, formation and starting line-ups, even though Luke Williams is still to be considered the Robins’ head coach.

So, Tim’s definitely not the manage despite all the those things.

Confusing?

Well Tactics Tim’s recent exploits are unlikely to clear things up.

Having ‘overseen’ Swindon 3-0 win over Charlton last week from the comfort of the stands, Sherwood chose an altogether more active role during the side’s humbling 3-1 defeat to Vanarama National League side Eastleigh in the FA Cup first round.

Trailing at 1-0, fans and pundits alike were dumbfounded when Sherwood took the reigns on the sideline, desperately sounding out instructions to his players in his own inimitable way.

All whilst actual head coach Luke Williams sat quietly on the bench.

Needles to say, Twitter revealed in the confusion.

On another note, will someone inform us why Tim Sherwood is held such high esteem by anyone connected with a football club.

Anyway,
