Pep Guardiola’s Bayern side were eliminated for the third time in a row at the Semi Final stage of the Champions League, as a typically disciplined Atletico side edged through on a fierce encounter.
Whilst goals from Xabi Alonso’s and Rober Lewandowski gave the Bavarians an all important two goals, a break neck counter attack and finish via French forward Antoine Griezmann led to a 2-2 aggregate win for the Spanish side.
A high intensity affair that naturally saw Diego Simeone at his bonkers best. Although the Argentine probably pushed things a little too far when he appeared to hit the fourth official with a hefty slap during the tense closing minutes.

As well as tasty La Liga title run in, Atletico face a potential final matchup with either Manchester City or fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Based on this utterly impenetrable performance, you’d give them every chance.
