Never one to stay quiet when a chance arises to take a passive aggresive dig, El Hadji Diouf has come to the defence of Mario Balotelli with a sly sideward swipe at Red’s favourite Steven Gerrard.
Very much already having ‘previous‘ with the now LA based midfielder, it seems the the former Senegalese international had some interesting things to say following friend Mario’s regrets of his disastrous Liverpool move – even going as far to comment that it was the worst decision of his life. Strong words from a man who set off fireworks in his own bathroom.
Speaking to L’Equipe, the all knowing Diouf commented. ‘I told him not to go to Liverpool. It wasn’t made for him, that things couldn’t go well with Gerrard, who has never had his talent and then said negative things about him,’
Before wading in further with ‘Gerrard is a jealous man who doesn’t like men of character. Mario is a good person that you should listen to. He’s not a guy who’s going to cause problems in the dressing room.
Lovely.
Since making the move to Nice over the summer, Balotelli’s prospects have seemingly improved dramatically after scoring twice in his debut against Marseille.
Of course Diouf see’s behind all of the hoo-ha aimed at the Italian.
There are a lot of things that have been made up about him. People tell tales about him, but they’re often a load of rubbish.’
Classic fence sitting by the gob-filled ex-striker.
