A West Ham side, boosted by the return of their talismanic midfielder Dimitri Payet, last night turned over a spirited Bournemouth side 3-1 to leapfrog Manchester United into fifth position in the Premier League table.
Eddie Howe’s side took a 17th minute lead thanks to Harry Arters 25 yard effort. Despite looking good for their lead, the Hammers thought back with devastating effect.
And it was Slaven Bilic’s main man Payet who grabbed the game by the scruff of its neck, converting this absolutely filthy long range free kick effort on 67 minutes.
The former Marseille playmaker assisted Enner Valencia to put West Ham ahead on 74 minutes before the Ecuadorian international added his second with a ludicrous free kick of his own.
And yet again Artur Boruc was left absolutely helpless.
