After Real Madrid, THREE More Clubs Join Race to Sign Sergio Aguero

Barely a week had passed by since the winter transfer window closed, and yet reports are already heating up regarding Sergio Aguero’s future at Manchester City, with three top European clubs angling to sign the striker in the summer.

Despite having problems with suspensions, the former Atletico striker has maintained his consistent scoring form on the pitch for most of the season. Indeed, he has already scored an impressive 18 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions thus far – including two hat-tricks against the likes of Steaua Bucharest and Borussia Monchengladbach. Such phenomenal form has lead to a hefty amount of interest from various clubs.

It was believed that Spanish heavyweights Real Madrid were in pole position to sign the 28-year-old Argentine international. But now, that has been thrown into serious doubt as three more clubs across Europe are thought to have joined the race to sign the Argentine.

Paris Saint-Germain
Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have already sounded their interest in signing the striker back in November, as they strive to find a replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who they lost to Manchester United last summer.

Given, they did not make a serious push to sign Aguero in the winter transfer window last month. But with the Premier League legends future at the Etihad Stadium seemingly uncertain, it would be no surprise if the French club decide to make a move on the player come the summer.

Chelsea
In an unlikely twist, current league leaders Chelsea have put themselves in the running to sign the Argentine striker. According to the Sunday People, Chelsea are fearing the worst when it comes to the future of their current striker Diego Costa, and are seeing Aguero as an ideal replacement for the Brazilian forward should Costa indeed leave in the summer.

With City eyeing to give their young hotshot striker Gabriel Jesus a chance in the first-team, Aguero’s stay at the Blue Side of Manchester has been thrown into serious doubt. And while City won’t be too keen on letting their prized possession go to a rival, that case may well happen in the summer.

Inter Milan
While the prospect of playing for PSG or Chelsea certainly prove tantalising given their trophy-laden histories, Serie A side Inter are no stranger to triumphs and with new Chinese owners, they are confident they can sign the striker in the summer.

According to the Sunday Express, Inter Milan’s new chiefs Suning Holdings are keen to make a statement signing in the summer and are willing to offer Aguero a whopping £300k-a-week megadeal to ensure the striker’s arrival at the San Siro. Aguero, who currently earns £200k per week at City, may well find the offer impossible to refuse.
